What Have I Worked On?
I have been working in the Online Advertising/Affiliate Marketing industry as a web developer and designer for the past 7 years trying to bring open source and standards to the industry. Below is a selection of the projects that I have worked on. All projects have been developed and designed by me unless otherwise noted.
- Tracking Systems and Affiliate Offer Managers
- Content Management Systems & Informational Sites
- Promotional Sites & Affiliate Marketing Landing Pages
- Development & Informational Blogs
Tracking Systems and Affiliate Offer Managers

Over the past 4 years I have designed and developed sophisticated tracking systems and affiliate offer managers for in-house use. These systems allowed marketers and copywriters to easily add new offers from multiple affiliate networks and generate optimized tracking code for use in emails and landing pages. The latest system receives over 1.5 million transactions per month.
The tracking systems also included category management, precise reporting, daily email notifications and secure user management.
Social Networking Applications

I have developed my own social networking platform and modules that have been used on past client's projects. These projects have ranged from dating sites and gaming sites to charitable and non-profit sites.
The social network platform included befriending, messaging, photo albums, video upload and sharing, commenting and much more.
Content Management Systems & Informational Sites

I have development many content management systems that allowed large numbers of people to contribute to and share stored data, aid in easy storage and retrieval of data, reduce repetitive duplicate input, improve the ease of report writing and improve communication between users.
These were used on educational sites, job seeking sites, non-profit sites, music & artist sites, and many more.
Promotional Sites & Affiliate Marketing Landing Pages

Working in the online advertising business usually landing pages are needed to collect user information. Over the past 5 years I have designed and developed well over 30 landing pages for numerous verticals. A landing page may seem simple from it's appearance but there is a lot of work that goes on behind the usual simple looking form. Usually a landing page needs custom validation for many different field types as well posting the submitted data to multiple email service providers.
During the Free *Insert Product Here* Giveaway wave in I designed and developed multiple successful promotional sites. The most successful site was GiftFox which received over 3 million registered users in less than 2 years time.
Development & Informational Blogs

In January of 2006 I became interested in Ajax (Asynchronous Javascript and XML) and picked it up quite easily. I decided to create workshops for my company to cover the basics of Ajax and Javascript. The workshops went over so well that I decided to put them up on a blog (Ajaxlessons.com) which received enormous traffic from sites like Digg and Ajaxian. The site still receives moderate traffic to this day and the workshops are still frequently linked by many popular blogs and sites.
Later in 2007 I discovered CakePHP which is a framework similar to Ruby on Rails but for PHP. Again I was interested and decided to put up a blog (CakeBits.net) to document features and cover stories and news surrounding CakePHP. Unfortunately this blog wasn't as successful as AjaxLessons and was discontinued early 2008. I hope to cover the same type of stories on my new blog.
Both blogs ran on the Wordpress blog engine with heavily customized themes.
